Gender-specific differences

Women may be affected by various disadvantages on their way to the top. This can be attributed, among other things, to the still male-dominant image of the "scientist", stereotypes in personnel selection and task allocation, and traditional role assignments in family planning. Findings from studies on this topic are listed in our bibliography under "Geschlechtsspezifische Karriereunterschiede" (gender-specific career differences).

In order to strengthen women on their way, to inform them about pitfalls and to support them in their career planning, targeted and individual support for female physicians in their career development is extremely important. The Faculty of Medicine, in cooperation with the Staff Unit TUM Equal Opportunities, offers you a wide range of support options.
